Giants’ Game
LET’S GO GIANTS” the crowd roared!  I was so excited because I had on field tickets to see the New York Giants versus the Washington Redskins at Met Life Stadium, their home field in New Jersey.  Having on field tickets meant I got to meet a lot of players before the game. It was an awesome start to what would be an exciting day!
Our seats were super close to the field; in fact, we were only ten yards from being on the field! My dad and I couldn’t wait for the game to start.  Fortunately, we didn’t have long to wait. As soon as the game began, the Giants got off to a great start with an eight yard run by David Wilson, giving them a 7-0  lead!   Unfortunately, the Redskins came back with a 15 yard touchdown by Robert Griffin III.  Soon after, they scored a second touchdown and a field goal. The Redskins had momentum, which is hard to keep, but they were up 17-7 at the half.
During halftime, my dad and I went to get something to eat in a huge room where everything was free. I enjoyed some chicken nuggets before we went outside to the field.  When we got outside, I bent down to feel the black, moist, rubber turf and as I touched it I hoped that one day I too would play in the NFL.
Trailing by ten after the half, it was clear that the Giants weren’t done yet. They quickly scored a pair of field goals and now the score was 13-17. A lot of turnovers later, with no scoring, the Giants scored another touchdown with five minutes to go, bringing the score to 20-17. “Dad, do you think they will hold onto their lead?”
“Maybe! It depends if they’re tired.”
They must have been tired because three minutes later, the Redskins scored and pulled ahead by four points. With two minutes to go, we had to score a touchdown in order to win. For the Giants it looked like all hope was lost, until Eli Manning threw a deep pass to Victor Cruz. Cruz caught the ball at the forty yard line in their territory and ran to the 40, 30, 20, 10, 5… touchdown!  My dad lifted me up, and the crowd came alive, chanting, “LET’S GO GIANTS! CH, CH, CH CH CH!!!!!” It got so loud I’m sure you could hear the roar for miles!
Now with 1:00 minute left, the Giants were up 27-24.  The Redskins had to score a field goal to tie the game.  Redskin Robert Griffin III snapped the ball and threw it down field; the receiver caught the ball, then fumbled, but the Redskins recovered it. Next, Giant Jason Pierre-Paul sacked Griffin with 30 seconds left and the Redskins needed 40 more yards. On the second down the Redskins threw an incomplete pass that stopped the clock with 25 seconds left. Griffin snapped the ball but he could not see anyone open, so he ran the ball down the field.  At last, it came down to the final play.  The snap was low and the Giants came with a blitz.   I was on the edge of my seat and I almost fell down from excitement! Then Giant Justin Tuck came from the blind side and sacked Griffin. The Giants got the ball, took a knee and the game was over. I couldn’t believe it! We had done it and the Giants had won! My dad and I were clapping with joy and excitement. What a surprising turnout!
After the game ended came my favorite part when the teams shook hands, showing good sportsmanship. Finally the teams headed to their locker rooms; I got to peek in to the Giants’ locker room and a player gave me his hat. I also got one glove from Justin Tuck and two gloves from Jason Pierre-Paul!  I was so excited; I couldn’t believe my luck!  On the drive home all I kept talking about was getting the gloves. I also got to watch more football on my dad’s iPad. I will never forget this phenomenal day!

(P.S. This is all is real!)
