Black

Black is as dark
As a dark fudge brownie,
Or as a blackout in a city at night.

Black is quiet and sneaky.

Spring

Puddles and snowmen melt,
Tulips and daffodils are being planted,
Spring is coming!
Everyone cheers with glee,
Butterflies flutter and bees buzz,

Now we can’t wait ‘til summer!

Chera

There was once a bean named Chera.
 She loved to have parties.
And she loved to make friends.
She made friends by dropping in to say hello.
Then, one day, at a party, she met a friend and Chera used her jumping power.
And her friends said how do you do that?

She said because I am a Mexican jumping bean.

Spring

Flowers coming up
Forsythia brightens hearts

Birds come back to north.

A Home Run

Crack!  As soon as I hit the ball I ran as fast as I can to first base.
I saw the ball hit the ground in the outfield.
I raced past first and headed toward second.
Then, past second and ran toward third.
Then I saw a player throw as I passed third.
Then, I slid into home base just as the ball was caught.

I was safe.

Tiny Turtle

Tiny Turtle was walking.
He found a taco on the sidewalk.
The taco said hello, because he had legs, hands and a face.
Tiny Turtle said, “Do you want to walk with me?”
The taco said yes, and then stepped in a wad of gum.
Tiny Turtle took it off, and they went to the arcade.
The taco asked, “Do you want to be friends?”
“Yes, my name is Tiny Turtle.”
 “My name is Tiny Taco.”

 They walked along.

Bears Will Be Bears

Bears, Bears,
Not like hares,
I love berries
Just like fairies
Bears, bears will be bears not like hares.

Bears, Bears
Eat the hares,
Eat the berries,
With the fairies,

Bears, Bears will be bears not like hares.

Sunflower

Big yellow petals,
A center the color of dirt,
More than 6 feet tall,
Like a giant towering over me,
Thick, fuzzy stem,
Like a ray of the sun,

SUNFLOWER!

Hiker

A hiker was marching up a hill,
So he could reach the top.
On the way he passed a mill,
And bellowed, “I will not stop!
I will reach the top of the hill,
Even if I have to eat pig slop.”
Indeed he reached the top of the hill,

And shouted, “I’m at the top!”

Stars

The stars twinkled like diamonds and glitter in the sky.
 It was a wonderful action.
All different colors for the stars.
Then came a shooting star.
I made a wish, and it came true.

I had a good time.

Hole

“Hey, a hole!”
Said the guy with a pet mole.
Where is it?
By the wood shaped like an armpit.
The guy with the pet mole was kinda dull.
I didn’t believe that there was a hole.
It was just a barrel
With a piece of red hair in it.

“Where’s the hole?”

Mice and Cat

There once was some mice
Who liked to play dice.
There was also a cat
Who was extremely fat

But that wasn’t the end of the mice.

Spring

Spring is the best time of year.
Putting your garden to work.
Ringing bells of the ice cream truck.
In spring,
New season,

Going good.

Queen Grace

There once was a queen named Grace.
Queen Grace ran a race.
Did I mention she’s clumsy?
She fell during the race and got all rumsy.

Then she started to pace.

Cupcakes

Cupcakes are sweet.
Cupcakes are neat.
They almost want me to bounce off my feet.
When I eat they make me want to squeak

They will always be my favorite treat.

Tweety the Bird

There once was a bird named Tweety
His eyes were awfully beady
He would sit on your nose
And after that he would pose

Then he would call you a sweetie.

Happy Birthday

It is my birthday today.
It was the first of May.
My birthday was very funny.
I got a new pet bunny.

My birthday was on a Thursday.

Candy

Oh, Sweet Candy.
You are so dandy.
When I take the first bite on Halloween night.
Kit Kat, Crunch, Twizzler.
When it melts in your mouth you just want to shout.

But you realize it’s the middle of the night.

Nose

You have a nose.
I’ll spray it with a hose.
What is a hose?
No one knows.
If no one knows, then I won’t spray your nose

With a hose.

Pie

There once was a dog named Pie
But the dog didn’t look like a pie.
If there was a treat
That Pie could eat

It would not be pie.
