I am soccer ball
I wonder if someone will kick me
I hear parents screaming “yea!”
I see kids kicking other balls
I want to hit the net of the goal
I am a size 4 ball
I pretend I am the game winning ball
I feel spikes of a cleat stabbing me
I touch the hard ground
I understand I’m not the only ball
I say “ouch!!!”
I dream of being awesome
