I wonder when I will hatch

I hear clucking noises

I see nothing

I want to hatch

I am an Easter chick

I pretend I will hatch soon

I feel a thump on me now and then

I touch my shell

I understand I will hatch soon

I say sometimes, “Get me out of here!”

I dream I will hatch soon
