Fall Is Starting
It was a beautiful day out so I
decided to go on a hike. I gazed at the old, moldy gray bridge. As I walked
across the bridge, it went “CREAK SCREACH CREAK!” I cupped my ear and heard a
faint sound of water moving. The water looked smooth enough to touch. I was
skimming rocks in the stream water, and dropped one in. Water splattered in my
face, and the water felt as cold as ice. When I crossed the bridge, a gigantic stampede
of fuzzy brown chipmunks were scurrying to a big bucket of nuts that my brother
left outside. It was so funny to see squirrels gathered up together around the
blue bucket. So I took my camera out and snapped a picture. By the time all of
the squirrels were gone, the bucket was empty!
I put my camera back, and slowly
strolled farther into the woods. The yellow, red and orange leaves on trees
look like really big fires. Then I found a rocky cave in the distance. When I
walked closer, I caught a glimpse of something orange and a little bit white.
It was a fox! After this furry creature took a close look at me, it started
chasing me! I dashed like a cheetah until I stumbled into a soft bedding of
white daisies. I peered behind me and I found a mini barn. The paint was faded
red. I got up and went in. The smell of apple pie drifted in the air. My mouth
began to water.
An old woman entered the room
with a crispy apple pie. She had white hair in a bun. She was wearing a black
dress with white lace in the middle. Her glasses kept flopping as she walked. I
could imagine the taste of apple pie in my head. I was thinking, I really want
some! She said, “Have some! It is scrumptious!” I cut a mini piece and ate it
all in one minute. She was right! It was so scrumptious! I thanked her and left
some money on the table. I checked my watch and it was 6:30, so I turned around
and headed home.
