The Diverse Turtle

Frank was a little turtle who had a smooth and gleaming shell that was green. His feet, tail, head, and spots were neon green. Although Frank looked like a typical turtle, he couldn’t help but wish his shell wasn’t so crooked. It had been like this all his life and he had grown used to looking different from the other turtles. Frank decided to take a stroll one day and decided to stop in the park. The trees were swaying in the strong but graceful breeze. The sun was so bright it was as if it were smiling. The gorgeous clouds were calling to come and relax. He spotted an old feeble rickety bench to sit on. Just as he was creeping up the frail outdated bench, he spotted a magnificent Schnauzer. He quickly recognized that it was Brian, the bully. Frank tried to straighten his shell fast, he now wished for a straight shell more than ever before.
He suddenly heard little foot steps behind him. Frank knew he had to accept facts, Brian, the bully had come up to him! “Hey, yeah you, what’s with the crooked shell?” Brian shouted right to Frank’s face. Frank had known one day someone would make fun of his shell, and there it was, the moment Frank had worried about. All Frank could sadly whisper was “Stop.” Brian just laughed and said, “I feel bad for you, oh wait no, I don’t.” He just walked away and laughed some more. Now Frank just lay on the bench crying.
He had no water, food, and no one to play with. Frank’s eyes were hurting because he had been crying so much. He must have fallen asleep for a while because when he woke up he turned and saw Brian was sitting right next to him. Little Frank got scared and fell off the bench. Brian seemed surprised that somebody would be so scared of him. “Are you ok?” asked Brian. He was astonished, why would Brian, the bully ask him if he was ok. “Yeah, I’m fine.” Frank said nervously.  “Hey listen,” said Brian, “I’m sorry about what happened earlier, it wasn’t right.” “It’s alright,” Frank began to say but Brian interrupted him “Wait you didn’t let me finish, everybody’s diverse and that’s what makes them special. “It’s alright,” Frank said
“I noticed you appear hungry and lonely, I was just headed towards a pond, want to come,” Brian asked Frank. “Sure,” Frank answered. Frank had a good feeling that Brian was trying to be nice so he took his chances. So the two, soon to be friends, walked down to the old pond. “Here you can eat all you want!” said Brian. Frank said “Thanks” excitedly and jumped in for a meal of his life time. “I got bullied when I was young,” Brian said out of the blue. “I bullied you because I wanted you to feel the same pain I did, I’m sorry again and I was wondering if we could be friends.” “I accept your apology and I would love to be friends,” replied Frank happily.
Brian thought for a minute, and decided, from that day on, never to bully again. Frank hoped he would never have to go through what had happened today, ever again. After their meal, Frank and Brian strolled through the park together like old friends.
